http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d6PDlMggROA District 9 is such a great movie that I have been watched for nowadays movie.
The story is about the conflict between Aliens whom lived on earth and human.It may seem like a kind of show that you have already being awared of. However the special element about this film is that, the main character of the movie had accidently combined his DNA with the alien's. As the result this officer of The District 9 had transfomred himself into a form of 'half human and another half of Alien' As things like this happened. District 9 has found the secret of operating powerful aliens' weapon.So the character had became a unique creature that had been used for military purpose. As he became fugitive, because of the change of the status of himself. He had been totally changed toward his attitude towards human and aliens.
The main focal point of the whole show is the main charcter himself. It takes about not only a fantasy story, but a realistic situation in human society nowadays. Self-image. Imagine if one day we are becoming like the character. Changed and become different in some ways that is far away from human. Do we still going to love ourselves? The character tried his best to be fixed and go back as a normal human status. He even tried to cut his right arm off because it had already transformed into an alien's arm. He had totally lost his self-identity of himself which makes him lost. Is he a human or an alien? Perhaps throughout the whole movie he is asking himself this question. In the end the character given up his own desire and help the aliens to go back to their mothership which lead them to their homeland. However why should he give up on the fluid that can transform his whole life back to normal? Instead, he gave up to his alien friend Chris to go back to his own planet. We can see a major change of the thought and characteristic of the him. That he has gained more understanding about the feeling of rejection from his own creature:human being. It is a kind of creature that shows great pride and selfishness.
The whole movie is been shot in a way of documentary style. It shows great sense of reality as if something like this had truly happend. However, we we think again. Isn' it true that it is what happening in the world today. We only see the true face of ourselves when we are under great tribulation and great frustration in life. However the good news is that we no longer need to worry about that. From today onwards we should accept everybody as the same. We do not have to wait until one day that we ourselves have became the rejected, then suddenly we start to realise value of those people. As well as how we suppose to treat each other. I beleive we do not have to wait until one day that something happened like the movie to learn our lesson.
The producer said that he wanne to let everybody to watch this movie to learn from it. I beleive that we can change a lot from now on.
